A little about us..
Steve and Heather have been married since July 2022. With a blended family of nine, there is never a shortage of activity happening here on the farm. Our farm has been in the family since 1964. Over the years it has been full of family memories, horses and new adventures. In the late 90’s the farm had quieted down, kids had grown up and moved on and the horses were no longer in the barnyard.
When we came along it had been some time since the farm felt alive and it was time to restore it. We started with goats and chickens. Over the years we have seen the joy it has been producing within our family and every year new animals are added to the farm.
Restoration takes time and a lot of intentionally. Not unlike our land that needed a lot of attention, our family needed a time of building a strong foundation. As we are obedient to God we see Him working in our lives daily, restoring things that at one time felt lost and merging two families into one.
Ephesians 4:24 “and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation]”
Just as God has restored us through Faith in Jesus Christ, our vision is to restore the farm and our family in a way that will bring glory to God.
Our goal is to become a self-sustaining farm, but we also want to help others in the process. Whether it’s being a source of affordable food or a place to worship and pray together we want the Schroeder Farmstead to be a blessing to others.
